Community Climate Action

Community Climate Action aims to deliver a programme of activities in Lambeth to help residents address climate change in their homes. We support this by providing simple, practical measures that residents can easily install to save energy and water. These improvements will not only make their homes more comfortable but also help reduce utility bills. We also hand out leaflets that offer low cost, no cost strategies to enhance the energy and water efficiency of their homes.

Some of the resources we have to give away include:

A  5-minute shower timer helps reduce water and energy use by encouraging shorter showers, typically saving up to 60 litres of water per shower.

A Save-a-Flush device is a simple insert placed in a toilet cistern to reduce the amount of water used with every flush - often saving up to 1 litre per flush.

LED bulbs are energy efficient light sources that use up to 80% less electricity than traditional incandescent bulbs and last significantly longer, often over 10 years.

Insulated letterboxes help prevent draughts and heat loss by sealing the opening in your door, making homes warmer and more energy efficient.

Radiator foil is a reflective material placed behind radiators on external walls to reflect heat back into the room rather than letting it escape through the wall.

Door and window insulation strips are easy-to-install seals that prevent draughts by filling gaps around doors and windows. They help keep warmth inside during colder months and block out unwanted cold air.
